Primer AI
- Primer AI partners with Palantir to bolster Palantir’s ‘Foundry’ platform, which was adopted by DHS and HHS under the Trump Administration to organize and analyze data, including their increased surveillance and tracking of migrants.
- In April 2025, ICE signed a $30 million contract with Palantir for them to build a platform to track migrants’ movements in real time, called the Immigration Lifecycle Operating System (ImmigrationOS), to track migrants’ movements in real time. The app has played a key role in supporting the Trump Administration’s mass deportation campaign. ICE renewed the contract on Sept. 25, bringing its total value to about $60 million.
- Beyond their work with Palantir, Primer AI partners directly with DHS to support DHS missions through “real-time monitoring, explainable analysis, and scalable workflows.”
- Primer touted that its technology helped Palantir create “self-updating visuals like network graphs, maps, entity profiles, and timelines, helping federal agencies stay ahead of emerging developments.”
- Federal government employees in other agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, disclosed that Palantir’s Foundry system was even being used to track data gathered on American taxpayers.
- A post on the Primer AI website praised the Trump administration’s AI policy, saying, “AI is prioritized by the Trump administration for both the efficiencies and possibilities it enables.”
- Leaders at Primer AI have ties to right-wing politics:
- Brett McGurk, a former Primer board member, served in Trump’s first term
- Sue Gordon, a current Primer board member, served in Trump’s first term
- Primer CEO Sean Moriarity and board member Clay Hutmacher were both board members of the Black Rifle Coffee Company, the “unofficial coffee of the MAGA universe”
- Primer board member Clay Hutmacher had further ties to right-wing politics, including publicly supporting Trump initiatives
